Anaheim Fire and Rescue together with Learning for Life is offering young adults between the ages of 14 through 21 years of age the opportunity to become part of Anaheim Fire and Rescue’s Explorer Post. If you enjoy teamwork, learning new skills in a fun and exciting environment, and are interested in jump starting your career in the fire services, then we have an opportunity for you.
Fire Explorers learn:
Hose lay evolutions
Wild land firefighting procedures
Proper use of tools and equipment
Basic first aid
Leadership skills that can be applied to any career
Fire Explorers meet 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. every other Tuesday, and as scheduled on weekends. After Explorers have met the minimum requirements they have the opportunity to experience what the job really requires through the department’s Ride-Along Program. During a ride along, Explorers work side by side with professional Firefighters and respond to actual fires and emergencies. Whether it’s riding on the Engines, Ladder Trucks, or performing an inspection there will always be an activity that is scheduled for their experience.
