Zoning Verification Letter

To verify the zoning designation of any property within the City of Anaheim, we recommend utilizing our online mapping application which provides you the property’s zoning designation.

You may also request a “Zoning Verification Letter”. A Zoning Verification Letter is a formal letter from the Planning Services Division that states the zoning of a property, previous zoning entitlements, and applicable rebuild clauses. 

To request a zoning verification letter from the City, please submit a letter of request identifying the subject parcel and any specific questions that should be addressed in the letter. Applicable Fee: $285.

Pay by Phone – Email Request:
Due to COVID-19 we are accepting payment by phone. Please email your letter of request to Planning@anaheim.net. The turnaround is 5-7 business days after receiving the request and fee. A staff member will contact you after we have received the email request from you to collect the payment by phone.

Payment by Check – Mailed in Request: 
If you decide to mail a check, please make checks payable to "City of Anaheim". Please note that there may be a 1-2 day time delay in processing mail in check payments at this time. You can mail your letter of request and check payment to the following address:

Please be advised that, item such as: Requests regarding open Fire Code, Building Code and Zoning Code Violations, as well as copies of the Certificates of Occupancy are handled separately as a public records requests (and not a zoning letter) and most of that information is available via the City’s online public portal
